Golden Key Matrix
A quick self-check for how well your design and development teams work together.
Great architecture can't fix a bad user experience. The Golden Key Matrix helps teams align technical architecture with design architecture by rating themselves across three keys:
- Open Mindset: curiosity, respect, and treating questions as ideas rather than criticism.
- Integrated Workflows: prototype run-throughs, UX intention discussions, dev build explanations, and cross-team pairing.
- Rich Ecosystem: prioritizing, choosing the right collaboration mediums, setting cadence, and owning the effort.
Each key is scored on a Design vs. Development quadrant, from Basic to Expert. Use it every sprint or two, and be honest; the value comes from candid answers.
Today it's a reference page you can bring to discussions or print out. Next, we're exploring accounts and progress tracking for individuals and teams.
